Information on the current international situation in the Persian Gulf region

In light of the current situation in the Middle East and related travel disruptions, we would like to kindly ask all students who are currently staying in the affected region to inform us about their situation.

If you are presently located in the Middle East (including countries where flights are suspended or significantly limited), please let us know and briefly indicate your current location and whether you expect any disruption to your return or study obligations.

This information will help us better understand the situation within our academic community and respond appropriately if needed.

The First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, is and will continue to be a safe and neutral academic environment built on respect, tolerance, and the protection of all its students and staff. We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels safe and respected, regardless of current events in the world.

If the current developments affect your ability to attend classes, sit for examinations, meet deadlines, or fulfil other academic obligations, please contact your Study Referent or Programme Coordinator without delay to discuss possible individual arrangements. Decisions regarding academic flexibility (such as adjusted deadlines or exam rescheduling) fall within the competence of the faculty.

If you are experiencing stress or uncertainty due to the situation, you may also contact the faculty well-being officer (mediator) or make use of counselling services available at the faculty or through CU Point.

Please do not hesitate to reach out. Open communication is essential so that we can support you effectively.
