Dear Students of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes,

Welcome to the official website for information and registration for the 26th Student Research Conference (SVK) of the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. To submit a proposal for the conference, we kindly ask you to complete the registration form.

Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by an expert committee composed of scientific staff from the First Faculty of Medicine. Based on the evaluation of the expert committee and the preference of the presenting author, the best-rated abstracts in both the undergraduate and postgraduate categories will be accepted for either an oral presentation or a poster presentation. The deadline for submission of abstracts was extended till March 16, 2025.

The conference takes place on May 6, 2025 at the Institute of Histology and Embryology, First Faculty of Medicine, Albertov 4.

Applicants will receive a decision from the expert committee regarding the acceptance of their contribution and the type of presentation by April 10, 2025. The conference program and the abstract book for the 26th SVK will be available 14 days before the conference. The abstract book will include both accepted presentations and other high-quality abstracts that have been approved for publication by the expert committee. Authors are responsible for grammar and content of the abstract. The abstract is published without language corrections.

Lecture:
The lecture can be delivered in Czech or English. The duration of the lecture is limited to 10 minutes.
Projection equipment and a computer are provided by the conference organizers. Presentations can be uploaded from a USB flash drive (readable on a PC) to the computer in the lecture hall on the day of the conference between 8:30–8:55 or during breaks between lecture sessions. The accepted formats are .ppt or .pptx (Microsoft PowerPoint) or .pdf (Adobe Reader).

Poster:
Posters can be prepared in Czech or English. They can be presented either as a single printed poster of specific dimensions (panel size: width 90 cm, height 100 cm) or as multiple individually printed A4/A3 sheets.
The poster must include the title of the work and the names of the authors. It should also present the aim of the work, results, and a summary.

Winners of the Student Research Conference will receive a financial reward, publications and other rewards from our partners.

Lecture: 15,000 CZK

Poster 1^st place: 10,000 CZK

Poster 2^nd place: 10,000 CZK

Postgraduate section:

Lecture 1^st place: 15,000 CZK

Lecture 2^nd place: 15,000 CZK

Poster 1^st place: 10,000 CZK

Poster 2^nd place: 10,000 CZK

Special prize for bachelor´s programme: 10,000 CZK

Students of the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, who actively participate in the conference can also earn credits as part of an elective course.
