Doctoral programmes focus on scientific research and independent creative work in research or development.
Doctoral studies follow individual study plans, where doctoral students are assigned a supervisor, usually with some participation of a consultant.
Applicants for a doctoral study are admitted based on an admissions procedure, which takes place at the faculties relevant to the particular doctoral programmes at a time set by the rector, usually in June.
To successfully complete a doctoral programme, doctoral students must meet a number of conditions: finish a dissertation thesis, defend it, and pass a state doctoral examination.
