Assesment of completed secondary education certificates

 

– NOSTRIFICATION BY THE FACULTY

 

This recognition is valid only for the purposes of admission procedure

Besides a successful passing of the entrance examination test, submitting of a completely legalized High school diploma/certificate in accordance with the information bellow is strictly required, as an essential and legal condition for admission and starting study at any University/Faculty in the Czech Republic.

The right variant to choose is a foreign document concerning a foreign secondary education (it will be assessed), unless you have General Nostrification document from Prague Municipality, or a document proving the awarding of a European Baccalaurate, or a document deemed automatically equivalent without any further administrative procedure (only for documents obtained in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia).

ASSESSMENT FEE PAYMENT

Once you put into your application – Proof of education - that your diploma will be assessed, the system will automatically inform you that you need to pay a fee for assessment (nostrification) of 880CZK. Information for the payment will be in the automatic email message which you will receive from the system.

All successful applicants in the entrance exam have to pay the assessment fee without delay (unless they have General Nostrification document from Prague Municipality, or a document proving the awarding of a European Baccalaureate, or a document deemed automatically equivalent without any further administrative procedure (only for documents obtained in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia). DOCUMENTS REQUESTED FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL EDUCATION ASSESSMENT/NOSTRIFICATION :

1. Authenticated copy of the foreign certificate (secondary school diploma, school leaving certificate with results if they are part of the diploma) proving foreign secondary education obtained by completing a secondary educational program at a foreign secondary school operating under the legal regulations of another state;

2. It is necessary to provide a certificate of accreditation of a secondary school (a document of the Ministry of Education or other state institutions in the country providing school education) if this information is not part of the diploma.

3. Original or an authenticated copy of a document describing the content and scope of education completed at a foreign school (an overview of subjects including the number of hours of instruction for individual years of study).

4. A confirmation from the relevant foreign secondary school or other relevant foreign body (e.g., a Ministry of Education) certifying that a graduate of a secondary educational program at the relevant foreign secondary school is entitled to apply for admission to study in a bachelor’s or a long-cycle master’s medicine program of study in the given foreign state.

Documents which are not originally issued in the Czech, English, or Slovak languages must be officially translated into the Czech or English languages.

If the official translation is made by other than a Czech certified translator, the sheets with translations must be attached to the authenticated copies of the documents they relate to in such a way that makes it impossible to subsequently change or replace the sheets containing the translation. Translations attached to unauthenticated copies of documents shall not be accepted

All documents submitted by the applicant to the faculty must be duly authenticated in accordance with the relevant international agreements (a list valid as of 1 May 2018).

SUBMISSION OF A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR ASSESSMENT OF DOCUMENTS:

After the assessment fee payment it is necessary to submit a request in the system and upload the documents there to be checked by the faculty and after the faculty confirms that the documents are ok, then send the authenticated hard copies by post or via courier.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS

Submit your verified and legalized documents to the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, so the documents (hard copies) together with the payment are received by the Faculty not later than on 31st August 2023. Documents sent after the deadline as well as documents sent via email will not be accepted.

Send the verified and legalized copies of documents by post or a shipping courier OR deliver the documents personally to the Faculty.

If the diplomas do not fulfil faculty requirements:

Students, whose diplomas do not fulfil the above requirements can still apply, but are obliged to obtain General Nostrification from the Municipality of Prague and deliver it to the faculty before 31.8.2023.
