The applicant who completed the previous higher education at a foreign higher education institution, must submit one of the following documents:

1) A document obtained in accordance with sections 89 and 90 of the Higher Education Act proving general recognition of a foreign higher education in the Czech Republic (so- called “nostrification”). General nostrification is handled by the rectorate of Charles University, not by the 1st Faculty of Medicine. More information here.

2) A foreign document concerning a foreign higher education if it is deemed automatically equivalent in the Czech Republic in accordance with its international agreements without any further administrative procedures (a higher education diploma and diploma supplement from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, or Slovenia). 3) A foreign document concerning a foreign higher education to be assessed by the Faculty (for a fee CZK 930 as follows). The applicant must send the documents concerning a foreign higher education in hard copy form by post or deliver them personally (the documents cannot be sent by email) no later than  30^th April 2024 (Admission procedure I. for ac. year 2024/2025) to the address of the faculty:

A fee payment: 

for academic year 2024/2025 = CZK 930 

Payment is made together with the payment of the fee for the admission procedure or when the applicant asks for assessment of his foreign education in the admissions procedure. The application is made in the Student Information System (SIS). The application for assessment is available during the admissions procedure after the applicant has submitted his/her application.

If the applicant is still studying at the time of the application deadline (April 30th 2024), he/she will provide a confirmation of the master's study in progress with the application (the confirmation must be in English). The applicant will send a hard copy of a certified copy of the diploma, the diploma supplement or any other documents to the address of the faculty at the earliest convenience (as soon as possible after obtaining the master's degree).

A foreign master's degree is recognized by the 1st Faculty of Medicine only on the condition that certified copy of the diploma, the diploma supplement or other requested documents are submitted.
