Testing from 17. 1. 2022 - rules for students
Within theoretical subjects, the obligation to test does not apply to students.
In the case of clinical subjects, the student is subject to the testing regime of the medical facility in which he/she performs teaching/practice and follows the rules of this facility. The clinical workplace where the teaching takes place will inform about the rules.
For the exam, the test is not necessary for the student.
1. LF UK informs about the obligation to vaccinate against covid-19 in selected groups
On 10 December 2021, an amendment to Decree No. 537/2006 Coll., On vaccination against infectious diseases, was published in the Collection of Laws. The amendment stipulates the obligation to vaccinate against covid-19 in selected groups, which also include university students preparing to practice the medical profession at a health care provider.
Compulsory vaccination against covid-19 is not a condition for admission to the study, but is a condition for conducting internships in medical facilities. More infor HERE.
From Monday 3. 1. 2022,
the organization of teaching at the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University
is the same as before.
The obligation applies
to all students to wear a respirator during teaching, both in theoretical and
clinical subjects, the obligation to wear a respirator in public areas still
applies.
Preventive testing in
medical facilities for the unvaccinated remains mandatory. The form of proving
the confirmation of infectivity is governed by the rules currently valid at the
specific medical workplace.
Dear students,
We are in the middle of another strong wave of the covid-19 epidemic. Our entire healthcare system, and hospitals in particular, are currently facing a large influx of patients. Healthcare professionals are fully occupied not only with the care of covid patients, but also with ensuring the operation of vaccination and collection points. The students helped in a fundamental way last year, at the expense of their studies, so this time the deans of the medical faculties opposed the order of work duties.
In this difficult situation, however, we interpret the Ministry of Health's request for assistance on a voluntary basis, especially during the Christmas holidays. We know that many of you are already involved in helping, and we thank you for that.
12. 11. 2021 Latest updates on Coronavirus Measures valid from 15 November 2021
From 15 November 2021 it is mandatory to wear a respirator during teaching, both in theoretical and clinical subjects. The obligation to wear a respirator in public areas still applies.
✅ COVID testing will be provided by hospitals for the unvaccinated students, which also applies to those who've been in direct contact with patients. The "O-N-T" certificate (certificate of non-infection, 3 types of certificates - O = vaccination; T= test, PCR or antigen; N = previously infected individual) is governed by the rules currently valid at the specific medical workplace.
Exceptions to getting tested include the following:
• individuals who were tested COVID positive (laboratory-confirmed) in the last 180 days
• individuals who have a complete vaccination certificate 14 days old.
Students do not have to prove infectivity in order to participate in education and examinations. On the contrary, they are required to demonstrate a proof of non-infectivity in order to participate in graduations, matriculations and if they are accommodated in dormitories.
29. 10. 2021 Epidemic measures for teaching valid from 1 November 2021
For theoretical subjects:
1 / Lectures in distance form.
2 / During other classes (seminar, practical classes, ..) students must
have a respirator.
3 / Proof of vaccination, test results, illness will not be required to attend classes
For clinical subjects:
1 / The need to prove the confirmation of "O-N-T"
(confirmation of infectivity) is governed by the rules currently valid at a
particular medical workplace
2a / All medics, without exception, will wear respirators in the ward,
even in contact with staff.
2b / We highly recommend a respirator even during lectures / seminars.
Demonstration of infectivity
• compulsory for students accommodated in dormitories, in the current
regime
• compulsory for students participating in matriculation and graduates
• shortens the validity of the PCR test to 72 hours, the validity of
the antigen test to 24 hours.
Respirators
• There is an obligation to wear respiratory protection in public areas
• In the case of tests, the respirator tested and tested may be put
aside if all persons maintain a distance of at least 1.5 m.
We will continuously assess the risks and the measures will be updated again in the light of the epidemic situation. Further tightening measures can realistically be expected to be announced.
The management of the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University calls on students to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

17. 6. 2021
Respirators are still mandatory inside universities. However, respiratory protection is allowed to be delayed during the test if all persons maintain a distance of at least 2 meters.
The obligation to wear respirators on university premises does not apply to:
· pedagogical staff or academic staff in the provision of education
· Examiners and examiners during an examination at school or university, provided that all persons maintain a distance of at least 2 meters
It is therefore permitted to postpone respiratory protection during teaching and testing at universities under the conditions specified above. In this sense, all persons involved in teaching and testing can be considered as academic staff.
21. 5. 2021
Based on the results of the crisis staff meeting, the overall wording of the measure at the faculty is stricter than required by the Ministry of Health.
Teaching and exams
Testing
For personal presence at the school due to full-time teaching and control of studies (exams, tests), it is necessary to undergo testing every 7 days, the student is obliged to submit the result to the teacher.
Mandatory testing does not apply to students who:
- have completed vaccination against COVID-19 with at least 14 days since the last dose. Students are required to provide proof of vaccination with a certificate (can be downloaded at https://ocko.uzis.cz),
- have undergone laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 disease and no more than 90 days have elapsed since the first positive test. The past disease is documented by a medical report with the date of the first positive test, or confirmation of a positive result of the laboratory test.
In all cases, it is still true that no one with COVID-19 symptoms is allowed to attend full-time education.
Respirators are still mandatory inside universities.
23. 4. 2021 New information for student testing is HERE.
22. 4. 2021 Student testing

We are preparing more detailed information and organizational instructions.

The government has approved the work obligation of students in hospitals
The duty of applies to the fourth and fifth year of university studies in general medicine. It also applies to all grades (except for the last years Bc. and Mgr.) of universities and colleges that are preparing for the non-medical medical profession. The government measures can be found here.
The deans of medical faculties within the association repeatedly opposed the compulsory use of medical students (current ADLF opinion here: https://dekanilf.cz/onewebmedia/Stanovisko_ADLF_pracovni_povinnost_4_3_2021.pdf).
The Minister of Health Jan Blatný (for YES) previously said that the work obligation will not apply to first- and sixth-year-old medics. Blatný added that the placement of students in hospitals should be set so as to affect their teaching as little as possible. The 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University takes note of the government's decision and will respond to the decision by adjusting the teaching.
As for the obligation to test, it is not yet clear to what extent this applies to the faculty. We will continue to monitor the situation and update the information.

So far, we have information that the Minister of Health does not want to resume work duties, he wants to address the need in medical facilities voluntarily. We welcome this, because it is the duty of medics to study first and foremost. With regard to the current situation, we will continue to recognize work in health care facilities according to the previously issued document "Help and Study".
The Ministry of Health also intends
to vaccinate volunteers as health professionals.
The last government resolution is valid until 10 January 2021. We will continue to monitor the situation and inform you in good time about the conditions of the organization of education, as well as about volunteering in health care facilities and vaccination options.
Please follow the website and FB of the faculty, the dynamic development of the pandemic again worsens the situation in hospitals and, if necessary, there may be more interest in volunteer involvement of medics, which the faculty would take into account within the existing rules (see above).

latest changes in the measures according to the anti-epidemic system PES, there are no changes in teaching at the
1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University.

national measures and the current epidemic situation. Please follow the faculty
website at the turn of the year for more accurate information.

The guarantor of the course decides on the specific form of teaching seminars.
Teachers and students are asked to continue to follow all anti-epidemic measures. When organizing classes, care must be taken to minimize contact between groups.
Changing the traffic light from red to orange should make the full-time part of the lesson easier. We do not expect the changes from previous weeks to be dramatic.
Should there be conflicts between the teaching schedule and the volunteer activities in which the students are involved, they will be resolved individually.
